About Sanstha: To understand and appreciate NAB it becomes necessary to view the organization’s accomplishments since January 19th, 1952, the birth of NAB till present. Since its inception, every year has been a forward leap in the organization’s reach and welfare provisions made for the blind.

Birth of a Force:
19th January, 1952, saw the flowering of the seed sowed by Mangulal Jethalal Shah way back in 1947. The then Premier of the Bombay Province Mr. B. G. Kher officially established NAB at the First All India Conference for the Blind.Six weeks later, with an executive council of just 39 members and support from Governors of different States, Mr. R. M. Alpaiwalla was appointed as the first President of NAB. Then began the release of the bubbling energy and determined mission of all its members into establishing NAB as an icon of unlimited service for the blind.

Vision:
~: To prevent preventable blindness.
~: To empower the blind through education and training in becoming self-sufficient through employment or self-employment and thus, integrate them with dignity, in the mainstream society.

About Org: National Association for Blind – India was founded in year 1952 at Bombay from the inspiration of Shree Rustamji Alpaiwala. Where as under guidance of lt. Shree Jagdishbhai Patel, a branch of N.A.B was established at Ahmedabad in year 1965. accordance to the rule of state branch, Bhavnagar got the N.A.B. branch in year 1984. In year 1989, the directors of the institute started the management of the institute and complete the registration process for the institute.

About Org: The Society is a Registered National Charity, founded in 1968, when a group of enthusiastic photographers in Richmond invited a group of severely disabled ex-servicemen from the Royal Star and Garter Home to join their meetings and share their interest.

Since then the society has grown steadily, they now have members from all over the UK, and the Society is run by a group of dedicated unpaid volunteers. The membership now comes from all walks of life and areas of the country and represents a large and diverse range of photographic abilities.

Most of the Committee and helpers have physical disabilities and so can readily appreciate the challenges and diversity of solutions each disabled photographer needs.

~: DPS can offer advice or help with modifications and can advise on or supply supports so that you can use cameras and take photographs.
~: DPS offers Technical Support and help for Disabled Photographers........you just have to ask.
~: DPS acts as a source of information on all aspects of photography for people with disabilities.
~: DPS aims to promote photography for people with disabilities, or their carers, or groups or anyone with an interest in helping the disabled.
~: DPS collects and modify photographic equipment which we loan to members, such as camera supports, all we ask is that members remember to renew their annual subscription to the society.
~: DPS has regular themed photo competitions and take part in monthly and annual nationwide leagues.
~: There is a quarterly magazine "In Focus" for members, in which they publish the results of competitions along with copies of the images. It also contains various articles written by members with tips and tricks to help overcome the way various disabilities can impede photography.
~: There is also an audio version of the magazine available for visually impaired members.
They also have an annual Exhibition and Competition open to all members. There are several classes to enter, depending upon your ability and any previous success.
~: Members can also submit work to be judged for Photographic distinctions.
In addition, they have an Annual photographic holiday, DPS organises studio sessions and occasionally special days at venues all over the country. DPS is planning to hold tutorials and seminars, plus, they also stage a very successful Annual Photographic Exhibition.

Who they are:
Mobilise Organisation was formed in 2005 from a merger of two long-standing charities, the Disabled Drivers` Association (founded as the Invalid Tricycle Association in 1948) and the Disabled Drivers` Motor Club (founded in 1922). With almost a hundred years of campaigning history behind them, Mobilise is run by and for disabled people. Mobilise believes that personal mobility impacts on every aspect of disabled people`s lives. Mobilise is not just an organisation for drivers. They also campaign for and support passengers, scooter and wheelchair users, families and carers. By leading in the fight to improve mobility and access Mobilise seeks to promote a better way of life for all disabled people irrespective of age, gender or race; and to end discrimination and segregation.

What they do:
Mobilise is a campaigning charity. By lobbying government & businesses in the UK, they fight to address the inequalities faced by many disabled people and remove the barriers to their personal mobility. They also provide information and guidance to enable people to make informed decisions about their individual transportation requirements.
